We knew Stroft was good, but just how good didn't become apparent until we compared it with other well known tippet materials.
This is a very simple direct comparison, we've graphed common Monofilaments and one Fluorocarbon material that is reputedly very strong (Which it is, but not as strong as Stroft Mono')
We have also compared Stroft GTM against the top Fluorocarbons from these manufacturers. In all cases Stroft GTM and ABR came out on top.
Just the Facts:
Results are graphed from actual specifications and values printed by the various manufacturers and converted into metrics.

Observations / Findings:
- Umpqua. The results are very interesting. Notice how the graphed results from 6X up show as a perfectly straight line. Stated diameters and breaking strength increase in a directly proportional manner - unlike any other manufacturer.
Umpqua either have the most perfect, precise manufacturing method in the world - or their labelling is simply increased in perfect increments regardless of actual material strength. You decide. - Maxima. All Maxima Monofilaments showed very similar results. Some anglers believe that this material is actually underrated. Our simple comparison does not test actual against stated ratings (But we will do this in the future) Regardless, Maxima was at the bottom of our list, and even if it was underrated by as much as 30% it would still not feature in the top 3 materials.
